Hudson was born in Los Angeles, California, the daughter of Academy Award winning actress Goldie Hawn and Bill Hudson, an actor comedian, actor and musician.Her parents divorced when she was just 18 months old and she and her older brother and actor Oliver Hudson, were raised in Snowmass, Colorado, and Pacific Palisades, California by her mother and her mother's long-time love interest, actor Kurt Russell.Hudson's origins are Italian (from her paternal grandmother), Hungarian Jewish (from her maternal grandmother),and the rest are a mix of English and some German.She was born Jewish; like her mother she also practice Buddhism.Hudson has claimed that her biological father "doesn't know her from a crack in the wall", and she considers Russell as her father.Hudson has described her mother as "the person who I've learned the most from and also the one I admire she has lived her life in a manner that I can look up to". She is the half-sibling of Emily Hudson as well as Zachary Hudson. These are her parents' biological children who later got married. unions with Cindy Williams and Lalania Hudson. Wyatt Russell was her mother's boyfriend. She was accepted into New York University but decided to pursue acting instead of pursuing a degree.
