His girlfriend Rudy Washington was seen pulling Ruggs out of the wrecked Corvette in the presence of Tony Rodriguez who arrived at where the wreck occurred immediately after the crash. He stated "We went up to her, and I said to remain put, but she was already pulling Ruggs out." Rodriguez, along with his passenger of 47 years old Johnny Ellis, ran over to Tintor's automobile after verifying that they were both okay. They tore the two windows on the front, and then attempted to lift the victim out of the car, but it caught fire moments later. "I tried to help pull her out but the door was jammed," said Rodriguez who added that Tintor was still breathing. Rodriguez together with Ellis told reporters that once the fire in their car, they were unable to help Tintor's dog and Tintor. "I'm having the feeling that I'm failing." LA Police report that Ruggs was speeding at 156mph before slowing down to 127mph before he crashed into Tina's vehicle. The blood alcohol content of Ruggs was over two times the Nevada lawful limit.
