Awkwafina

Awkwafina started out as a American performer and rapper, releasing sly tracks that tackled questions of race and sexuality with a humorous twist. Before expanding to Hollywood the singer was able to make a few songs. Nora Lum began her musical path as a trumpeter. She was born in Forest Hills Queens, she was the child of Chinese immigrants as well as Koreans. Jazz, classical and hip-hop studies began when she was in her teens. In the college years, she remained focused on her studies, and then took up a degree in women's studies as well as journalism. In a short period of time in Beijing, Mandarin language classes were offered as well. Following graduation, she decided to concentrate on music. The track My Vag, a response track to Mickey Avalon's My Dick gained viral popularity on the Internet in 2012. It was eventually included in her first album Yellow Ranger released in 2014. The album also included viral hits such as the body-positive Queef or the winking city tour the city of New York Bitche$. The second track linked into Awkwafina's NYC Travel Guide that was published in 2015, which was an additional idea. Her resume contained both an author and musician. She was now looking for a new career path in acting. Aside from early TV shows such as Girl Code and Tawk, she's also appeared in movies including Neighbors2Storks and Bad Rap. In 2018 she was able to land breakthrough roles in a handful of high-profile films like Dude Ocean's 8 and Crazy Rich Asians. This June, she released her EP "In Fina We Trust".
